SW Oregon's Women's Soccer Team has had a rough season. Traveling to Lane they had two previous losses against Chemeketa and Clackamas. Lakers currently sit in last place with only 5 points and are behind Clark with 3 points. They are within 4th place, the girls just have to be determined and work hard their next few games left to pull away with some points.
On a cloudy and very moist day Caitlin Sprenger #17 (*Leading Scorer) scores the first goal of the match with a pass from Sarah Smith #10 (*Leading Assists) at the 4th minute of the match. As everything looked fine Lane came out next play and broke through the Laker's Defense to score and tie the match at the 5th minute. The rest of the day was horrible for the Lakers as they gave up two more goals in the 1st half. The score 3-1 at halftime.
Lakers came out second half looking to minimize the margin with some goals, but Lady Lakers weren't able to come away with a goal the whole second half. Lane on the other hand was able to score two more goals to end the game at 5-1.
Lady Lakers weren't able to capatalize on many plays and couldn't set a good rythm during the whole game. Lakers still have a chance to come out and take Clark out of 4th place if they win their next few matches. Come out and support as Lady Lakers match up against Chemeketa on Wednesday October 28th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
