The University of Oregon soccer team out-shot SMU 22-3 but couldn’t find the back of the net in battling to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon at Pape’ Field in Eugene. The result evened the Ducks’ record to 1-1-1 on the season, while the Mustangs also moved to 1-1-1.  Oregon (1-1-1) will return to action next weekend with the 2010 Nike Invitational. The Ducks will face UC Davis on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before closing the tournament on Sunday with a 1:30 p.m. match against Pacific.

Hildahl
University of Oregon senior Kate Hildahl topped the field in the PNGA Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship for the second time in her career Sunday, this time by a convincing 11-stroke margin at the Lake Padden Golf Course.  Hildahl held onto her first-day lead from Saturday’s tourney-low and two-under 70, and followed with a five-over 77 Sunday. Her 147 overall score topped the field by nine strokes as Seshia-Lei Telles (77-79) and Brittany Tallman (76-80) tied for second place with 12-over scores of 156.  The Tualatin, OR, product Hildahl shot four birdies Saturday (#7, 13-14, 16) and two more Sunday (#14, 17), and added 12 and 10 par scores, respectively, each day. She also had two and five bogeys, respectively, in the first and second rounds, and one double-bogey Sunday.  Hildahl also won the ’08 event by four strokes with her one-over 145 at the Hangman Valley Golf Course in Spokane, WA.
