Police took Gary Lee Luttman into custody |

On May 28, 2010 at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers from the Coquille Police Department, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Myrtle Point Police Department, Oregon State Police, North Bend and Coos Bay Police Department’s K-9 units took Gary Lee Luttman into custody after a 2 ½ hour search was conducted. At approximately 6:00 p.m,, a citizen reported to law enforcement that they saw Gary Luttman run into the tree line located approximately ½ mile off Fairview Road, near milepost #1.5, Coquille. North Bend’s K-9 led officers to Luttman’s location who was found hiding under a tree amongst the forest. Gary Luttman was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Correctional Facility by Coquille Police Department where he was lodged without further incident. Gary Luttman was charged with Escape I. A special thanks to all the law enforcement agencies that assisted in the capture of Gary Luttman and to the citizens of Coquille for being attentive and vigilant in this apprehension.
